Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who began her career with innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Later, she began the classical and hip-hop genres. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism, and women's studies at college, even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a time. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she completed her degree. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also featured viral hits like the body-positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The song was directly connected to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. She opted to pursue acting as a profession following the completion of her previous two endeavors, author and musician. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018, with several movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP in Fina We Trust.
